खासदार बाळू धानोरकर यांनी लोकसभेत विचारला रेल्वेतील जेष्ठ नागरिक सवलतीचा प्रश्न

संसदेच्या हिवाळी अधिवेशनाच्या सहाव्या दिवशी बुधवारी लोकसभेत प्रश्नोत्तराच्या तासादरम्यान चंद्रपूरचे खासदार बाळू धानोरकर (Balu/ Suresh Dhanorkar, Member of Parliament) यांनी वृद्धांसाठी रेल्वे भाड्यातील सवलतीवर प्रश्न उपस्थित केला. याला उत्तर देताना रेल्वेमंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव (Ashwini Vaishnav) म्हणाले की, आजही प्रत्येक रेल्वे प्रवाशाला ५५ टक्के सवलत दिली जात आहे. ही सवलत कशी दिली जात आहे, हे देखील त्यांनी स्पष्ट केले.

लोकसभेतील खासदार बाळू धानोरकर यांनी विचारले की, कोविड महामारीपूर्वी रेल्वेत प्रवास करणाऱ्या ज्येष्ठ नागरिक आणि पत्रकारांना जी सवलत देण्यात आली होती, ती सरकार पुन्हा सुरू करणार का? यावर रेल्वेमंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव म्हणाले की, आजही प्रत्येक रेल्वे प्रवाशाला जवळपास 55 टक्के सवलत दिली जात आहे. 

गेल्या वर्षी प्रवासी सेवेवर एकूण 59 हजार कोटींचे अनुदान देण्यात आले होते. त्यांनी स्पष्ट केले की जर एखाद्या प्रवाशाला नेण्यासाठी रेल्वेचा खर्च 1.16 रुपये असेल तर रेल्वे प्रवाशांकडून फक्त 40-48 पैसे घेते. गेल्या वर्षी केवळ प्रवासी सेवेवर ५९ हजार कोटींचे अनुदान देण्यात आले होते. याशिवाय नवनवीन सुविधा आणि नवीन प्रकारच्या गाड्या प्रवाशांसाठी येत आहेत. खासदार धानोरकर यांनी केलेल्या सवलतीच्या मागणीवर पुढील निर्णय घेतला जाईल. मात्र आता रेल्वेची स्थितीही पाहिली पाहिजे, असेही रेल्वेमंत्री म्हणाले.

Suresh Dhanorkar, Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, asked whether the government will resume the concession which was given to senior citizens and journalists holding permission in railways before the Kovid epidemic? On this, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that almost 55 percent concession is being given to every railway passenger even today.

A total of 59 thousand crore subsidy was given on passenger service last year.

He explained that if the cost of railways to carry a passenger is Rs 1.16, then the railways charges only 40-48 paise from the passengers. Last year only about 59 thousand crore subsidy was given on passenger service. Apart from this, new types of facilities and new types of trains are coming for the passengers. Further decisions will be taken on the concession, but now the condition of the railways should also be seen.
