डॉक्टरला देवाचं रूप मानलं जातं. अनेक रूग्णांसाठी, त्यांच्या नातेवाईकांसाठी डॉक्टर हा त्यांच्या आयुष्यात आलेला देवदूत असते. त्यांच्या कौशल्याने अनेकांना जीवदान मिळालेले आहे. भारतामध्ये 1 जुलै हा दिवस डॉक्टर्स डे म्हणून साजरा केला जातो.
भारताचे प्रसिद्ध चिकित्सक डॉ विधान चंद्र रॉय यांना श्रद्धांजली आणि सन्मान म्हणून 1 जुलै हा दिवस डॉक्टर्स डे म्हणून साजरा केला जातो. 1991पासुन भारतामध्ये डॉक्टर्स डे साजरा करण्यात येतो. 4 फेब्रुवारी 1961 साली डॉ विधान चंद्र रॉय यांना भारताचा सर्वोच्च नागरिक सन्मान म्हणजेच 'भारतरत्न' बहाल करण्यात आला आहे.
डॉ. विधान चंद्र रॉय यांचा जन्म 1 जुलै 1882 साली बिहारमधील पटना येथे झाला.
वैद्यकीय व्यवसाय हा केवळ आर्थिक लाभ पदरात पाडून घ्यायचा धंदा नसून, तो रोग्याला रोगमुक्त करण्यासाठी जीव तोडून करावयाची एक सेवा आहे. व्यवसाय आणि सेवा यात डॉक्टर सेवेच्या बाजूला थोडा जास्त झुकला पाहिजे. रुग्णाविषयी डॉक्टरला वाटणारी आस्था पाहूनच रुग्ण निम्मा बरा झाला पाहिजे. सहृदय माणसाचा स्पर्शदेखील रुग्णाला व्याधीमुक्त करून जातो. तो नुसता डॉक्टर न रहाता त्याच्यासाठी श्रध्दास्थान होवून जातो.
फिजिशियन डॉ विधानचंद्र रॉय हे पश्चिम बंगालचे दुसरे मुख्यमंत्री होते. त्यांच्या दूरदर्शी नेतृत्त्वामुळे रॉय यांना पश्चिम बंगालचे आर्किटेक्ट असेही म्हणतात.
रॉय यांचे शिक्षण कलकत्त्यामध्ये झाले. एमआरसीपी आणि एफआरसीएसची डिग्री लंडनमधून घेतली आहे. 1911 पासून त्यांनी भारतामध्ये वैद्यकीय सेवा देण्यास सुरूवात केली.
🔹जगभरात वेगवेगळे सेलिब्रेशन
जगभरात डॉक्टर्स डेचं वेगवेगळ्या दिवशी सेलिब्रेशन केले जाते. अमेरिकेमध्ये 30 मार्च दिवशी डॉक्टर्स डे सेलिब्रेट केला जातो. यापूर्वी हे सेलिब्रेशन 9 मे रोजी केले जात असे. ईरान, क्युबा या देशात वेगवेगळ्या दिवशी डॉक्टर्स डे साजरा केला जातो.
रूग्णांच्या सेवेसाठी 24X7 कार्यरत असणार्‍या डॉक्टर्सना यादिवशी धन्यवाद दिले जातात. त्यांच्या सेवेप्रती या दिवशी आदर आणि आभार व्यक्त केले जातात. याकरिता ग्रिटिंग्स,मेसेज पाठवले जातात.
डॉक्टराना देवदूत मानले जाते.

July 1 is celebrated as Doctor's Day as a tribute and honor to India's famous physician Dr. Vidhan Chandra Roy. Doctor's Day has been celebrated in India since 1991. On February 4, 1961, Dr. Vidhan Chandra Roy was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor.
Dr. Vidhan Chandra Roy was born on 1 July 1882 in Patna, Bihar.
The medical profession is not just a business for financial gain, it is a service for the sick. In business and service, doctors should lean a little more towards service. The patient should be cured only after seeing the doctor's feelings about the patient. Even the touch of a kind person cures the patient. He becomes a place of worship for him, not just a doctor.
Physician Dr. Vidhan Chandra Roy was the second Chief Minister of West Bengal. Roy is also known as the architect of West Bengal for his visionary leadership.
Roy was educated in Calcutta. MRCP and FRCS degrees are taken from London. From 1911, he started providing medical services in India.
