जगात खरचं एक असा देश आहे जो तुम्ही केवळ एका तासात पूर्ण फिरू शकता, यावर विश्वास ठेवणे जरा अवघड आहे पण हे खरं आहे!
तो देश म्हणजे मोनॅको… हा युरोपातील एक नगर-देश आहे. मोनॅको आकाराने जगातील दुसरा सर्वात लहान सार्वभौम देश आहे.
मोनॅकोच्या पूर्वेला भूमध्य समुद्र तर इतर तीन दिशांना फ्रान्स हा देश आहे.
मोनॅकोपासून इटली देशाची सीमा केवळ १६ किमी अंतरावर आहे. मोनॅकोमध्ये राजेशाही सरकार आहे. अल्बर्ट दुसरा हा मोनॅकोचा राजकुमार व सत्ताप्रमुख आहे.
१९२७ पासून येथे ही राजेशाही सुरु आहे.
मोनॅको हा छोटासा देश खरोखरच १ तासात पायी फिरता येतो. विशेष म्हणजे या छोट्याश्या देशात प्रचंड संख्येने पर्यटक येतात व जगातील श्रीमंत देशात त्याची गणना देखील होते.
या देशाचे क्षेत्रफळ अवघे १.९५ चौरस किलोमीटर असून मोनॅको असेच या देशातील एकमेव शहराचे नांव आहे. मोनॅकोची लोकसंख्या अंदाजे ३३,००० आहे.
त्यामुळे हा जगातील सर्वात जास्त लोकसंख्येची घनता असलेला देश आहे.
हा देश फॉर्म्युला कार रेसिंग, जगप्रसिद्ध कॅसिनो आणि इथल्या उत्तम हवामानाबद्दल जगभरात प्रसिद्ध आहे.,त्यामुळे युरोपियन देशांमधले अनेक धनाढय़ मोनॅकोचे नागरिक बनले आहेत.बाहेर पैसा कमवायचा, तो मोनॅकोत आणून गुंतवायचा… म्हणजे कर नको, कर चुकवेगिरीपणा नको. या देशात भ्रष्टाचारही नाहीच.या देशात फ्रेन्च भाषा बोलली जाते. येथे होत असलेले फॉर्म्युला कार रेसिंग, जगप्रसिद्ध माँटेकार्लो कॅसिनो आणि इथल्या शाही परिवाराची शानोशौकत ही इथे येणाऱ्या पर्यटकांसाठीची मुख्य आकर्षणे आहेत.
येथे ऐतिहासिक आर्कीटेक्चरल कॅथेड्रल दे मोनॅको, ७ हजार प्रकारचे कॅक्टस असलेले उद्यान, जपानी गार्डन, १३ व्या शतकातील शाही निवास पॅलेस डू प्रिन्स, ४ हजार प्रकारचे गुलाब असलेले बगिचे, सरोवरातील हंस अशी अनेक प्रेक्षणीय स्थळे बघायला मिळतात.
इथली लोकसंख्या कमी, मध्यमवर्गीय उत्पन्नस्तर आणि पुरेसे पोलीस बळ यामुळे तीव्र अशा सामाजिक समस्या मोनॅकोत नाही आहेत.
हिंसा, गुन्हे, गरिबी असही काही इथे दिसत नाही. इथे शिक्षण दहावीपर्यंत अनिवार्य आहे.
त्यामुळे या देशाची साक्षरता ९९ टक्के आहे. इथली सरकार नागरिकांना डायरेक्ट पेन्शन देतं यावरून इथली सरकार जरा जास्तच दानशूर आहे असं म्हटल्यास वावग वाटायला नको.
तसेच इथे हवी तेवढी प्रसूती रजा मिळते. तर सरकारी व्यवस्थेतून प्रत्येकाला आरोग्य सुविधाही मिळते. रोमन कॅथलिक हा इथला राष्ट्रधर्म आहे. इथे ९५ टक्के लोकसंख्या याच धर्माची आहे.
पण इतरांनाही त्यांच्या त्यांच्या धर्मपालनाचे, पूजापाठाचे स्वातंत्र्य घटनेने दिलेले आहे.
