Nagpur: Shri Kalgidhar Satsang Mandal, Jaripatka Nagpur, observed the 347th martyrdom day of Shri Guru Teg Bahadar. Programme started at 2 p.m. with paath of Panch Shri Japuji Saheb, Shri Sukhmani Saheb and Gurbani Shabdas by the Ragis and devotees.
Gurubani Keertan-Pracharak Adv. Madhavdas Mamtani in his discourse stated that Shri Guru Teg Bahadar resisted the Aurangzeb’s policy of forcible religious conversion from Hinduism to Islam.
Guruji was approached by kashmiri brahmins to protect them from the forcible conversion of religion. A meeting was held and Guruji told the devotees that if a Mahapurush sacrifices his life, this forcible conversion will stop. Fortunately Balak Govindrai (The Tenth Guru of Sikh Panth) the son of Shri Guru Tegbahadar was present and he said ‘Pitaji, who Mahapurush other than you can be that?’ Guruji on hearing this felt very happy and told kashmiri brahmins to convey to Aurangzab that if our spiritual Guru Shri Tegbahadar accepts Islamism we all brahmins will voluntarily become Muslims. Auranzeb was very happy to hear all this and thought that if brahmins accept Islamism, the followers of brahmins i.e. Hindus will not get religious information and their religions will be at no place. Guruji was called and imprisoned in Delhi but Guruji refused to accept Islamism. On his refuse Guruji was martyred in the month of Maghar (Margshish) Sudi 5 in savant year 1732 the equivalent english date is 1st December 2019.
The Tenth Guru of Sikh Panth Guru Gobindsingh also endorsed the action of Guru Tegbahadar and said in Dasam Granth established in Sachkhand Gurdwara of Nanded and many other Gurudwara’s in india and said in priase of Guru Tegbahadar “Tilak Janu Rakha Prabh Taka Kino Bado Kalu Mahi Saka . . . . . . Sees Diya Paru See Na Uchari” means Guru Tegbahadar protected the Tilak & Janeu of Hindus and benefited others in Kaliyug and for that noble cause sacrificed his Sees (head).
Therefore Adv. Mamtani explained the devotees that according to the orders of Guru Tegbahadar & Guru Gobind Singh, we should neither interfere with the way of worship of other religions and nor criticise it.
Guru Tegbadarji’s entire life was sacrificed towards service of poor needy and deprived segment of society. Guruji used to preech “Hamra Bartan I-ehai Subhau, Sahije Aawau Sahije Jaau” that means with intutive ease we come and with intutive ease we depart from this world. Guruji always insisted that worldly wealth is not for accumulation but should be distribute in poor and those are in need.
