सौ.सरोजताई जोशी यांनी विचारलेला प्रश्नप्रश्न : - आत्मा जेव्हा शरिर सोङून जातो तेव्हा त्याला कळत असते काय की आपण शरिर सोङले आहे म्हणजे मृत्यू मिळाला आहे ,त्याला आपल्या माणसांची आठवण येत असते काय ?
असे म्हणतात त्यांना खुप वेगवेगळे प्रवास असतात ,त्यामधे आपण सारखे आठवण काढत राहीलो तर त्यांना त्या प्रवासात त्रास होतो...
कृपया नक्की काय असते समजावलेत तर बरे होईल ...

उत्तर :-
प्रथम आपला स्थूल देह म्हणजे अन्नमय कोश गळुन पडतो पक्व झालेले झाडाचे फळ आपोआप जमिनीवर पडावे तसे.
यावेळेस देहातील दहा प्राण क्रमाक्रमाने शरिरातुन बाहेर पडतात, नंतर आत्मा चार कोषासह सूक्ष्म देह धारण करुन बाहेर पडतो तेंव्हा या देहाला मरण येते. आत्मा अजरामर आहे. देहा भोवतीच हा आत्मा घुटमळत असतो, घरात रडारड सुरु होते, शेवटी स्मशानभूमित या देहावर अग्नी संस्कार करतात, आपल्या जीवनातला तो शेवटचा यज्ञ असतो म्हणून याला अंतेष्टी म्हणतात . अंत म्हणजे शेवटचा आणि इष्टी म्हणजे यज्ञ .
अंतेष्टीच्या वेळेस जे मंत्र म्हंटले जातात त्याचा अर्थ असा आहे की , मेलेल्या वेक्तिला संबोधुन मंत्र आहेत, कारण आत्मा तिथे हजर असतो व तो हे सर्व पहात असतो. तेंव्हा त्या मंत्राचा आशय असा आहे की आता तुमचा या देहाशी काहीही संबंध राहीलेला नाहि तुम्ही आता पुढच्या मार्गाला जा. याला गती प्राप्त होणे म्हणतात . आता आम्ही तुमचा हा देहसुद्धा जाळुन टाकणार आहोत असे म्हणून त्या प्रेतावर संस्कार करतात, जो संस्कार करणारा असतो तो आपल्या डाव्या खांद्यावर पाण्याने भरलेला माठ घेवुन प्रेताला अपसव्य म्हणजे डावि प्रदक्षिणा घालतो , यावेळेस एका दगडाने खांद्यावरिल मडक्याला एक भोक पाडतात , अशा तिन प्रदक्षिणा करुन प्रेताच्या मस्तकाजवळ उभे राहून ज्या दगडाने माठाला छिद्र पाडले गेले तो दगड खांद्यावर माठ असणाऱ्याच्या मागे ठेवतात मग त्या दगडावर खांद्यावरील माठ मागे सोडून देतात तेव्हा त्या माठाचा फ sss ट् असा आवाज होवुन तो फुटतो यालाच घटस्फोट असे म्हणतात .( आता नवरा किवा बायको जिवंत असतानाच घटस्फोट घेतला जातो ) या ठिकाणी डाव्या मनगटाने बोंब मारली जाते आणि सांगितले जाते की तुमचा आमचा संबंध संपला आता तुम्ही इथुन जा. मग तो दगड गळ्यात घातलेल्या वस्त्रामधे बांधतात याला अश्मा असे म्हणतात . त्या नंतर प्रेताला जाळले जाते . आत्मा हे सगळं पहात असतो , त्याला आपला देह जळताना पाहुन वाईट वाटते , त्याला रडायला येते , ( येथे अशी कुणी शंका घेवु नये की आत्मा रडतो का ? तर आत्मा अजुनही चार कोषामधे बद्ध आहे व यात मनोमय कोष असल्यामुळे वासना , भावना असतात ) प्रेताला अग्नी दिल्यावर आपण घरी येतो , तो आत्माही आपल्या सोबत घरी येतो मात्र तो फडक्यात बांधलेल्या अश्म्यावर बसतो म्हणून फडक्यात बांधलेला अश्मा दाराच्या बाहेर ठेवतात , दहा दिवस हा आत्मा तिथे बसलेला असतो.
घरात दक्षिणेकडे कडे तोंड करुन दिवा लावला जातो याला नमस्कार करुन आलेली मंडळी निघुन जातात♍
