RETURNING OFFICER AND SECRETARY GENERAL, LOK SABHA, SHRI UTPAL KUMAR SINGH RECEIVES THE NOMINATION PAPERS.
New Delhi; 18 July, 2022: Vice Presidential Candidate Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar filed his nomination papers before Returning Officer and Secretary General, Lok Sabha, Shri Utpal Kumar Singh, in Parliament House, today.
Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, Leaders of Parties and Members of Parliament were present on this occasion.
It is relevant to mention that nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any one of his proposers or seconders to Secretary General, Lok Sabha, at his office in Room No. 18, Ground Floor, Parliament House, New Delhi, or if he is unavoidably absent, to the Assistant Returning Officers at the said office between 11 A.M. and 3 P.M. on any day (other than a public holiday) not later than the 19th July, 2022.
Each nomination paper shall be accompanied by a certified copy of the entry relating to the candidate in the electoral roll for the Parliamentary constituency in which the candidate is registered as an elector;
Every candidate shall deposit or cause to be deposited a sum of rupees fifteen thousand only. This amount may be deposited in cash with the Returning Officer at the time of presentation of the nomination paper or deposited earlier in the Reserve Bank of India or in a Government Treasury and in the latter case a receipt showing that the said deposit of the sum has been so made is required to be enclosed with the nomination paper;
The nomination papers, other than those rejected under sub-section (4) of section 5B of the Act, will be taken up for scrutiny at Room No. 62, First Floor, Parliament House, New Delhi on Wednesday, the 20th July, 2022 at 11 A.M.;
The notice of withdrawal of candidatures may be delivered by a candidate, or any one of his proposers or seconders who has been authorized in this behalf in writing by the candidate, to the undersigned at the place specified in paragraph (i) above before three o’clock in the afternoon of 22nd July, 2022;
In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on Saturday, the 6th August, 2022 between the hours of 10 A.M. and 5 P.M. at the place of polling fixed under the rules.

नई दिल्ली; 18 जुलाई, 2022: उप राष्ट्रपति पद के अभ्यर्थी श्री जगदीप धनखड़ ने आज संसद भवन में उप राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के रिटर्निंग ऑफिसर और महासचिव, लोक सभा श्री उत्पल कुमार सिंह के समक्ष अपने नामनिर्देशन-पत्र दाखिल किए।
इस अवसर पर प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी, केंद्रीय मंत्री, दलों के नेता और अन्य सांसद मौजूद रहे।
यह उल्लेख करना प्रासंगिक है कि नामनिर्देशन-पत्र अभ्यर्थी या उसके प्रस्थापकों या समर्थकों द्वारा महासचिव, लोक सभा को उनके कार्यालय (कक्ष संख्या 18, भूतल, संसद भवन, नई दिल्ली) में दिया जा सकता है। यदि महासचिव अपरिवर्जनीय रूप से अनुपस्थित है, तो अभ्यर्थी अपने नामनिर्देशन-पत्र अपराह्न 11 बजे से 3 बजे के बीच किसी भी दिन (सार्वजनिक अवकाश के अलावा) उक्त कार्यालय में सहायक रिटर्निंग अधिकारियों के पास 19 जुलाई, 2022 से पहले दे सकते हैं।
प्रत्येक नामनिर्देशन-पत्र के साथ उस संसदीय निर्वाचन क्षेत्र की निर्वाचक नामावली में अभ्यर्थी से संबंधित प्रविष्टि की प्रमाणित प्रति संलग्न की जाएगी जिसमें अभ्यर्थी निर्वाचक के रूप में पंजीकृत है;
प्रत्येक अभ्यर्थी को केवल पन्द्रह हजार रुपये की राशि जमा करनी होगी या जमा कराना होगा। यह राशि नामनिर्देशन-पत्र प्रस्तुत करते समय रिटर्निंग अधिकारी के पास नकद में जमा की जा सकती है या पहले भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक या सरकारी खजाने में जमा की जा सकती है। पश्चात कथित दशा में है ऐसी रसीद का जिसमें यह दर्शित किया गया हो कि उक्त राशि जमा कर दी गई है नामनिर्देशन-पत्र के साथ लगाया जाना आवश्यक होगा;
अधिनियम की धारा 5 (ख) की उप-धारा (4) के तहत खारिज किए गए नामनिर्देशन-पत्रों के अलावा, नामनिर्देशन-पत्रों की जांच सुबह 11 बजे; कमरा नंबर 62, पहली मंजिल, संसद भवन, नई दिल्ली में बुधवार, 20 जुलाई, 2022 को की जाएगी।
अभ्यर्थिता वापस लेने की सूचना अभ्यर्थी, या अभ्यर्थी द्वारा लिखित रूप में इस संबंध में अधिकृत किसी भी प्रस्थापक या समर्थक द्वारा, ऊपर दिए गए निर्दिष्ट स्थान पर 22 जुलाई, 2022 की दोपहर तीन बजे से पहले दिया जा सकता है।
चुनाव लड़े जाने की दशा में, मतदान शनिवार, 6 अगस्त, 2022 को सुबह 10 बजे से शाम 5 बजे के बीच नियमानुसार निर्धारित मतदान स्थल पर लिया जाएगा।
