Nagpurनागपूर :- Launch of the Consortium of Empowered Women Entrepreneurs at the National Stock Exchange in a power-packed seminar titled ‘DRIVING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP & GLOBAL STRATEGY IN G20' in association with Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), NITI Aayog, Government of India, truly set the foundation for many women entrepreneurs who set uncertain and very conscious foot into this remarkable venue.
While Nagpur based NGO 'WE7' also took active participation in the event among others. The contribution of this particular NGO was crucial during the tough times of COVID. The organisation had lend their support & joined hands with NMC & local authorities to help the needy then. That's why WE7's representation at CEWE was indeed a proud moment for the Nagpur city.
Women who walked in not knowing what to expect and even too shy to ask; left with their heads held high, filled with new ideas of collaboration, finance, marketing and most importantly Self-worth.
When a group of dedicated, determined and dynamic women come together, they can pack in a punch. Add to this group, an ever-supporting man who believes in the importance of women leaders; you get the Consortium of Empowered Women Entrepreneurs (CEWE).
Ms. Shweta Shalini, President - CEWE set the stage on fire with her charged, relevant and factual opening speech. During the FireSide Chat with Ms. Bhumi Pednekar - Entrepreneur, Actor & Climate Warrior and Ms. Shweta Shalini, President - CEWE, who not only brought in her glamorous self, but also showed us her vulnerability as a female entrepreneur in a man's world. Her emphasis on Prioritizing self, truly hit the mark.
Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director & CEO - National Stock Exchange of India Limited drove in the importance of funding, investors and pitching. His candid confession of how he had failed a number of times, but kept going because 'stopping' was unthinkable was truly heartening.
During another Fireside Chat with Ms. Zarina Screwvala, Philanthropist, Co – Founder - Swades Foundation, Ms. Riddhi Doshi, Founding Member - CEWE with her relevant questions for her, got the audience thinking about the hardships women face at the grass root levels, in villages that are unimaginable for people working and living out of A/c rooms. Toilet Ek Prem Katha is more than a movie- It's hard reality.
During the power packed Panel Discussion Moderated by Ms. Sonal Jaitly, Lead, Gender Equality Social Inclusion Practice (GESI) - Microsave Consulting, Ms. Nidhi Modi, Director - Gautam Modi Group & EV Director - FADA, said that though taking and working for family business, she did face bias and difficulties, she also mentioned that women are not ready to take up certain roles and that should change for better inclusion. Ms. Chetna Gala Sinha, Founder – Mann Deshi Foundation charged the audience with positive stories of how the rural women pitched and got their bank and financial stability as a group. She also mentioned a very interesting point that parenting and raising a child should be a celebration and both a man and a woman should enjoy the process. It should not be just a woman’s job.
Ms. Rohini Iyer, Founder & Director - Raindrop Media, was brutally honest about how she was seen as a Rebel and that to survive in the media and in a man’s world one needs to be a Rebel and that Woman should not give up, it’s good to be emotional as women, but that should be her strength. Dr. Bhavi Mody, Founding Member - CEWE shared that digital media has increased market penetration many folds and helps entrepreneurs get more visibility and that success lies in working together and supporting each other’s growth journey.
Ms. Rachana Bhusari, Vice President - National Stock Exchange of India Limited gave some fabulous insights for MSME listing on NSE, on their platform Emerge. She also emphasized and elaborated on the recently launched Social Stock Exchange by NSE and how it will pave path to more access to capital for social enterprises and create a huge impact in the social impact space.
CEWE was officially launched by its President Shweta Shalini ji and Founding members Bhavesh Kothari, Riddhi Doshi Patel, Chaitali Chatterjee, Dr. Bhavi Mody, Minal Kothari, Neerja Pathania, Sujata Mengane and Rinku Nagda, followed by a celebration and ringing the Listing Bell at the National Stock Exchange of India Limited.
