Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to Inaugurate 72nd IPC today
Three day mega event to promote Pharma industry
Nagpur, 19 Jan 2023 : Nagpur is all set to host mega event of Indian Pharmaceuticals Congress (IPC) to be inaugurated today by Union Minister for Shipping and Road Transport Shri. Nitin Gadkari on 20th January 2023 at 10.30 am at Jamanalal Bajaj Administrative Building, RTMN University Campus, Amaravati Road, Nagpur. Drug Controller General of India, Dr. Venugopal Somani who was instrumental in facilitating fast tracking of Covid Vaccines will also be present as President of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association for the inaugural ceremony. Coincidentally, Dr. Somani is the alumnus of University Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UDPS), Nagpur. Keynote address for the conference will be delivered by Dr. Ajit Singh, Chairman, ACG Capsules Ltd.
Among the dignitaries from the State and Central Govt to grace the inauguration are Shri. Sanjay Rathod, Food and Drugs Minister of Maharashtra, Ms. S. Aparna, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizer, GOI, Shri. Abhimanyu Kale, Commissioner of Food and Drugs Administration, Maharashtra, and Shri. Montukumar Patel, President of Pharmacy Council of India. Among the other eminent personalities, Dr. Dominique Jordan, President – International Pharmaceutical Federation, Shri. Purushottam Agrawal, Chairman, Samta Group and Chief Patron and Mentor of LOC for 72nd IPC, Shri. Jagannath S. Shinde, President, AIOCD All India Organization of Chemists’ and Druggists, Patron of IPC, Ajit Singh, Chairman (India) of ACG Worldwide, the Associated Capsules Group (ACG) of Companies in Bombay, will be addressing the conference.

The event assumes special significance as annual IPC is happening after gap of two years due to pandemic. This 72nd IPC is happening in city after four decades as the last one was organized in January 1981. Unveiling of Special Souvenir and Scientific Abstract Book of 72nd IPC at the hands of dignitaries would also take place.
A special attraction for the general public of Nagpur will be huge Pharma Expo wherein mega Pharma industries will exhibit machinery and technology showcasing the live operations and demonstrations of working of machines and instruments which is otherwise impossible to get a chance to see. This expo will be open for all.
