The post of National Commission for Backward Classes Chairman Hansraj Ahir has been conferred the equivalent status of a Cabinet Minister through a letter issued by the Union Home Ministry. He was appointed as the Chairman of the National Commission for Backward Classes by His Excellency the President on December 02, 2022. Now this post has been given the status of Union Cabinet Minister.
After assuming the responsibility of the President, Hansraj Ahir has been working with great vigilance regarding the social, educational and employment issues of OBCs while reviewing the OBC officials, employees, workers in the government, semi-government, industries, various companies, coal mining sector in various states of the country to fill the backlog according to the roster. He has been effectively working as the National President for constitutional rights of OBCs.
Hansraj Ahir has previously represented Chandrapur Lok Sabha constituency 4 times. A member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, during his tenure as an MP, he has done remarkable work as chairman and member of other Parliamentary Standing Committees including Coal and Steel. He has also effectively discharged the posts of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Minister of Fertilizers and Chemicals in the 16th Lok Sabha. Hansraj Ahir is being congratulated from all quarters for being conferred the status of Cabinet Minister.
