Work In Progress for 50 E-Vehicle
Charging Stations in the First Phase
Nagpur:
To contribute in the nation’s policy to encourage the green energy with the use of electric vehicles, Maharashtra has also planned to set up 500 e-vehicle charging stations across Maharashtra.
To encourage the E-vehicle policy in Maharashtra, Mahavitaran has decided to set up 50 e-vehicle charging stations in the first phase comprising of Mumbai-4, Thane-6, Navi Mumbai- 4, Panvel-4, Pune- 10, Mumbai-Pune Expressway- 12, and Nagpur- 10. The work for these e-charging stations will be done in a phase-wise manner. The e-tendering process for this project is in the last phase and the work order will be given within a week. The Amravati Road Substation at Nagpur and the Paradigm Substation at Pune have set up a fast DC Charging Station each which will start working very soon.
The cost to set up an e-vehicle charging station is around 2 Lakh 50 Thousand. Except Mumbai, Mahavitaran supplies power to the entire state of Maharashtra. Hence, Mahavitaran plans to set up such e-vehicle charging stations all over the State.
These e- vehicle charging stations will be set up in the free/empty space of Substations of Mahavitaran. These will be fast DC charging stations. In this set up, it will require 45 Mins to 1 hour to charge a vehicle completely. The tariff is fixed at the rate of Rs.6 per unit on the basis of TOD for charging of vehicles. Also, there will be discount on the power tariff of the e-vehicle charging to Rs. 1.50 for charging of vehicles between 22:00 hrs to 6.00 in the morning.
